The largest retained observation in this research snapshot is a Mario Pikachu listing recorded at £15,086.70 on 2026-07-14. That makes it the first entry in our archive ranking. It does not make it an independently authenticated world record.
The distinction matters when researching expensive cards. A marketplace listing can provide a useful lead while leaving questions about accepted offers, final payment, accessories and later returns unanswered. This article keeps the amount, card identity, grade, date and source together so that readers can examine each observation rather than inherit an unsupported headline.
What this ranking measures
We selected the ten distinct Pokemon catalogue identities with the highest individual eligible recorded amounts in the retained archive before 2026-09-05. The archive's qualifying observations run from 2025-09-28 to 2026-09-04. Dates are the stored sale dates, not publication dates or promises about today's market.
Records must pass the same public-identity quality gate used for the other research, contain a positive GBP price and a valid integer grade, and have the required source fields. We remove obvious multi-card titles and test records, and deduplicate eBay item IDs. For each catalogue identity, we keep only its largest observation so repeated sales of the same card do not fill the list.
This ranking deliberately includes different grades and languages. Its purpose is to identify large recorded amounts, not to estimate a language premium or compare grading companies. It is limited to the tracker's retained coverage, which is not a complete account of UK or global sales.

1. Mario Pikachu XY294
£15,086.70 · ACE 10 · XY Promos · 2026-07-14
The listing identifies the XY promotional Mario Pikachu and describes an ACE 10. It sits well above the other retained observations in this table, so it deserves particularly careful checking before it is used as a comparable. One extreme result is not a typical sale price.

2. Latias & Latios GX 170/181
£5,300.00 · ACE 10 · Team Up · 2026-06-14
This Team Up observation is for the 170/181 identity. The original listing also mentions an included guard. Preserve that context when comparing with a slab-only sale and keep this identity separate from other Latias and Latios cards.

3. Pikachu Gold Star 104/110
£5,182.00 · ACE 6 · EX Holon Phantoms · 2026-08-28
This is a grade-6 observation for the EX Holon Phantoms Gold Star identity. Its position illustrates why a high price cannot be explained by the grade number alone. It is not evidence that this grade normally sells at the amount shown.

4. Golem 148/144
£4,911.70 · ACE 10 · Skyridge · 2026-06-19
The stored title describes the Skyridge 148/144 Crystal Holo version. A generic search for Golem would bring back different cards, so use the full number, set and finish when examining the linked history.

5. Lugia 149/147
£4,086.70 · ACE 5 · Aquapolis · 2026-06-10
The Aquapolis 149/147 record is described as ACE 5. Compare that particular version and condition band before using another Lugia sale as supporting evidence. The character name alone does not establish a useful price relationship.

6. Celebi 145/144
£3,780.70 · ACE 9 · Skyridge · 2026-06-22
The source describes a Skyridge Crystal Holo Celebi in grade 9 and mentions a swirl. Such seller descriptions may affect how a listing is presented, but this research does not independently authenticate them or estimate a separate premium for them.

7. Rayquaza [C] LV.X 079/100
£3,700.12 · ACE 10 · Beat of the Frontier · 2026-09-04
This listing explicitly mentions Japan and first edition. Those are material identity details, not words to strip away while comparing with an English release. The source should be checked for the exact edition and slab before treating it as a like-for-like comparable.

8. Charizard ex 105/112
£3,576.70 · ACE 9 · EX FireRed & LeafGreen · 2026-07-19
The FireRed and LeafGreen 105/112 observation is a different Charizard ex identity from modern cards using the same character and suffix. A modern Charizard table cannot be substituted for this older numbered version.

9. Vaporeon Gold Star 102
£3,474.70 · ACE 9 · EX Power Keepers · 2026-08-05
The retained title identifies the EX Power Keepers Gold Star card and grade 9. Use the source photographs and catalogue history to check the full collector number and version rather than relying only on a shortened search result.

10. Umbreon ex 161/131
£3,372.70 · ACE 10 · Prismatic Evolutions · 2026-08-22
This Prismatic Evolutions record describes grade 10 and perfect subgrades in its title. The latter is a seller claim in the stored record; it has not been converted into an independently verified feature or a separate price adjustment.

An archive high is a starting point for research
A highest-price ranking is selected for extremes. It therefore answers a different question from a table of typical outcomes. Before using an entry as an asking-price reference, check how far it sits from other observations for the same grade and whether those observations are recent.
The visible recorded amount may not resolve every transaction detail. A best offer can differ from a displayed asking price; postage and accessories can affect a comparison; a completed listing can later be reversed. The tracker does not have independent payment-settlement evidence for these records.
An unavailable original eBay page does not retrospectively verify or disprove the stored observation. It reduces what can be checked now. Our first-party record preserves the information retained by the tracker, while the original marketplace link gives another route to investigate when it remains available.
Keep grade and card identity separate
This table includes grades below 10 because it ranks recorded amounts across different cards. It would be a mistake to use that ordering to conclude that a lower grade is more valuable than a higher grade of the same identity. Card identity, version and the specific sale context change at the same time.
For a more controlled question, the ACE 9 versus ACE 10 article holds catalogue identity and the broad observation window constant, applies an explicit-language rule and shows the sample sizes. Even that study describes a small sample rather than a guaranteed grading premium.
Check a comparable before acting on it
- Match the full card number, set, language, edition and artwork.
- Inspect the slab grade and any claimed additional features against the source.
- Confirm the stored date and look for more recent equivalent observations.
- Account for bundled accessories, delivery treatment and offer uncertainty.
- Compare several records and retain a range rather than selecting the highest result.
Our practical valuation guide turns those checks into a repeatable process. If your question is whether to submit a raw card, use the cost and break-even guide as well. A large historical sale does not establish the return from a new submission.
Frequently asked questions
Are these confirmed world-record sales?
No. This ranks eligible listing observations retained in this tracker. Payments, returns, accepted offers and the global market have not been independently verified.
Why is each card identity shown only once?
The ranking keeps the largest observation for each catalogue identity, so repeated sales of the same card do not occupy multiple places.
Does the largest recorded sale establish today's value?
No. A single historical high is a research lead. Look for recent comparable sales of the same version and grade before estimating a present range.
Evidence and sources
Compiled by ACE Grading Sales Tracker from retained eBay UK listing observations. A recorded amount is not independent confirmation of payment, delivery or the absence of a return. Catalogue matches can still contain mistakes.
- Download the dated research snapshot and observation ledger (JSON). Includes the filter definitions, counts and public listing IDs used for these tables.
- Search the current ACE sold-price archive and follow the individual source links in each table.
Corrections should identify the article, listing ID and evidence being challenged. A revised report should carry an updated review date and describe a material change to its sample or calculation.
